Internation Reliability Expert Announced for National Conference

International maintenance guru, Dr Bob Platfoot will present the keynote paper on reliability engineering at the National Maintenance Engineering Conference in November 2008. Australian based Dr Platfoot is a world recognised authority on maintenance management and his paper on providing a comprehensive reliability service will be a holy grail to engineers trying to improve their own operations.

Dr Platfoot’s keynote address is just one of the many powerful and informative papers planned for the 2008 Hamilton event. From preventative maintenance to materials failures, health and safety, HASNO, energy efficiency project funding and peer experiences, the National Maintenance Engineering Conference is an ideal opportunity for maintenance engineers to find solutions to their own problems in a personable environment. Based on the society’s hugely successful and popular Practical Maintenance Management Conference series, the society has designed the new national event to be the benchmark industry conference for maintenance engineers. The event features two days of reality based networking and presentations by peers and experts alike as well as the opportunity to involve suppliers in discussing common issues.

On the back of unprecedented of unprecedented membership growth and a philosophy of listening to the real life issues of maintenance engineers, MESNZ has ensured the conference works hard to stay abreast of members needs. The resulting broad brush approach provides a range of technical and non-technical subjects. While contemporary events accommodate specific technical subjects or high academic/corporate approaches, the national conference provides a forum where engineers, suppliers and managers can meet, network and learn without exorbitant cost and corporate spin. As the national society representing maintenance engineers, MESNZ takes its role and responsibility seriously and is proud to offer the lowest cost 2 day conference available with attendance set at $680 (+GST) per person, something that will please potential attendees previously deterred by the high cost of commercially operated conferences. Attendees with an eye for a bargain can further reduce the attendance price by $100 ($580+GST) by simply joining up to the society at the same time. Society membership fees vary dependant on circumstance and company size but is based on a benchmark cost of around $56+GST per person.

While the two day national conference will retain the same popular networking focus and inclusive environment of the society’s previous events, a new feature will be the expansion of the exhibitor’s hall. Industry providers have always been welcomed as valid contributors to industry and this philosophy has been extended to ensure the opportunity for engineers to explore solutions is maximised. Exhibition costs are significantly below comparative participation costs and various exhibiting tiers are on offer to enable participation regardless of business size. Add to that the planned pre-conference (November 11) free public entry Trade Exhibition and suppliers will agree that the event delivers serious bang for their buck.
