ABD Group sign on as the major sponsor of NMEC

ABD Group, one of NZ’s most trusted names in bearings has signed-on as the major sponsor of the National Maintenance Engineering Conference.

Grant Burrell, owner and managing director of ABD Group, jumped at the chance to sponsor this annual flagship event of the Maintenance Engineering Society of New Zealand.

“It’s a very good fit with our company. We aim to become the number one distributor of bearings and power transmission equipment in New Zealand”, said Grant Burrell.

“We are continuing to build our network throughout the country and partnering with NMEC will extend our reach into key regions and sectors”.

ABD Group began operations as Auckland Bearings back in 1977 and has grown organically and through acquisition to now have outlets throughout NZ including BTS Taranaki, SMP Bearings, Bearing Wholesale and i-trans. ABD Group markets leading international brands including Nachi, NSK, FAG, Timken, Optibelt and Tsubaki.

James Neale, president of Maintenance Engineering Society, was present at ABD Group head office in Auckland to finalise the sponsorship arrangements.

“It is fantastic to have ABD Group as our principal partner for NMEC through until 2022. This is going to help us build on the very strong momentum we have achieved over the last few years.”

NMEC is the premier forum for NZ’s maintenance engineering community, held annually to present the latest in technology advances, best practices, continuous learning, tools, solutions and vital insights from NZ and global case studies.

NMEC 2020 will be held in Rotorua 13 – 15 October 2020. The future-focused theme for this year’s conference and trade show is The Future is NOW! Smart, Safe, Sustainable Engineering.
